Join us on October 25th to engage in this important regional dialogue around building our talent pipeline in Lee, Collier, Charlotte, Hendry and Glades counties.
Last year, nearly 500 regional businesses, community and educational leaders across five counties gathered for the inaugural Education Summit, focusing on education as a fundamental economic driver. The landmark regional event sparked new collaboration and initiatives including a three-year roadmap by The Alliance of Educational Leaders and an education task force by the Horizon Council, Lee County’s public/private economic development partnership.
Market Watch Education is produced in partnership with the Southwest Florida Workforce Development Board. Other planning partners include Wells Fargo, the Alliance of Educational Leaders, the Horizon Council, Greater Naples Chamber of Commerce, the Foundation for Lee County Public Schools and the Education Foundation of Collier County.

Dr. Kamela Patton,

"The common theme resonating for me was that a responsive K-20 educational system is foundational to the economic, social and cultural vitality of Southwest Florida. We need to find better ways to educate more students in order to successfully compete in a global arena. In order to achieve this, education and business leaders must work together more closely,"
Dr. Wilson Bradshaw,
President, Florida Gulf Coast University
"The News-Press Educational Summit produced a tremendous amount of energy with a lot of varied and strong opinions. There appeared to be a desire for a fundamental change in education. For that to happen, it will require federal and state legislative leadership, candid institutional input and a committed community,"
